We observed World Breast Cancer month, October 2021, at the Earth Trust with an awareness programme.
The trainees of our Women's Programme pinned pink ribbons on each other in memory of those who lost to breast cancer, as a tribute to those fortunate to overcome it and as a pledge to stand together in the fight against the disease.
The bright pink ribbon on their spotlessly white traditional shawls did attract the intended attention among curious fellow villagers!
There was amazing bonding between them over the capabilities AND the vulnerabilities of a woman's body. These young women found strength and reassurance from understanding the disease better.
We also left with them a challenge to share what they had learned with as many other women. The one with the longest list of women at the end of November would be given a prize!
